Yes…Yes…Yes, we are almost there!
We have our domain name, our hosting and our domain name redirected. Congratulate yourself on a job well done! All that remains is to log in to our control panel (cPanel) and install WordPress.
What is cPanel?
CPanel is a Unix based web hosting control panel. It makes our lives as bloggers and webmasters so, so much easier. It provides us with a graphical interface and with automated tools, simplifying the process of hosting the website. Cpanel makes installing WordPress a snap. A word of warning, once cPanel is installed, removing it is very difficult. With that being said, I found cPanel to be very user friendly and easily learned.
Let’s Install WordPress via cPanel:
- Log in to your cPanel account.
- Find the icon for Fantastico De Luxe and Click on it. We are using Fantastico in order to install the WordPress script.
- On the left side of the screen, Choose WordPress. It will bring up a description of WordPress.
- Click on New Installation.
- Fill in your domain name, leave the directory field empty to install in the root directory, choose an admin name, choose an admin password, enter your e-mail address and last but not least Click Install.
- Fantastico will create all the necessary files, just Click Finish Installation.
